The Crafts Council’s mission is to make the UK the best place to make, see, collect and learn about contemporary craft. This required a website that would become a destination not just for makers, but a vital hub for the sector. The process started with user-centred workshops that identified multiple and often conflicting user groups.
The organisation had accumulated an abundance of great content – largely due to being the publisher of a world-class magazine ‘Crafts’, which they have produced regularly for 40 years. Showcasing this content was fundamental; the result is a responsive site that organises a huge amount of content and delivers complex functionality with style and simplicity.
